Mr. Shepard coordinates the day to day operations, sales and marketing, and customer service operations for three subsidiary organizations of Arthrex, Inc.
In the Allograft Tissue Systems division, he is responsible for the design and implementation of general orthopedics and sports medicine allograft marketing strategy. He is also responsible for the design of website, promotional advertising brochures, and technical literature, and develops market research to identify implications of alternative technologies and their impact on future allograft transplantation.
He develops relationships and agreements with tissue banks, clinicians, physicians, investigators, scientists, and academic research institutions, and designs procedure-specific instrumentation to enhance allograft transplant procedures.
In the Arthrex Bio and Arthrex Vet Systems, he is responsible for exploring business opportunities in the field of orthobiologics, in an effort to improve the company’s product lines and market position. Other responsibilities include the managing of clinical evaluation trials of orthobiologic initiatives, the design of instruments and methods pertinent to orthobiologic and veterinary medicine, and the design of research related to company projects focused on allograft transplantation, orthobiologics, and veterinary orthopedics. He also formed a new subsidiary organization designed to provide surgical instrumentation and biologic products for use in the veterinary field, and is responsible for the research that has included biomechanical testing, clinical studies, and animal model studies.
